Utility & Consumer Support

Madera Coalition for Community Justice provides consumer education and support services to help residents better understand and manage phone, internet, electric, and gas bills.

Phone Assistance
We help community members review phone bills, avoid third-party charges, and apply for programs.

CHANGES Program
Through the Community Help and Awareness of Natural Gas and Electricity Services (CHANGES) program, we assist residents—especially limited English speakers—with:

  • Understanding energy bills

  • Avoiding disconnection

  • Setting up payment plans

  • Applying for energy assistance programs

Additional Bill Support Programs Include:

  • LIHEAP (Referral)

  • REACH (Referral)

  • CARES (City of Madera)

  • PG&E AMP Program – Forgiveness of past-due balances over $500-$8,000 when current bills are paid on time for 12 months
