Youth-Led Halloween Event

Each fall, the Madera Coalition for Community Justice hosts a Halloween event, last year’s being Halloween in the Garden — a spooky, fun-filled celebration entirely planned, designed, and run by our Madera Youth Leaders.

From the very first brainstorming session to the final decorations, youth take the lead in every detail. They create the theme, design the games and activities, build the decorations, coordinate costumes, and volunteer throughout the event. Their creativity and energy transform the garden into a magical (and slightly spooky!) space the whole community can enjoy.

The event features:

  • Youth-designed games and contests

  • Trick-or-treat stationsPhoto spots and themed decorations

  • Costume contests for all ages

  • Festive music to set the Halloween mood

Halloween in the Garden is more than just a fun night out — it’s a chance for our youth to showcase their leadership, creativity, and community spirit while giving families a safe and memorable way to celebrate the season.

Mark your calendars each October and join us for a night of spooky fun, community connection, and youth-powered magic.

Coming in 2026: The theme will be “Drugs Are Spooky” — a fun Halloween celebration combined with a drug use prevention resource fair. Families can expect all the classic Halloween activities alongside educational booths, resources, and giveaways aimed at promoting healthy, safe choices.
