Mccj Community Garden

Growing Community, Health & Connection Since 2008

The Madera Community Garden was born from a vision of the Madera Youth Leaders and brought to life in 2008 with support from the Madera Redevelopment Agency. The garden was created as a space where residents of all ages can come together to grow their own food, promote healthy eating, and build a stronger sense of community.

The garden also serves as a vibrant gathering space for community events, including our annual Earth Day celebration and other seasonal activities that bring residents together in celebration of sustainability and community pride.

We welcome volunteers to join our ongoing garden cleanups and maintenance days—a great way to get involved, learn about growing food, and give back to the community.

Want to join the garden cleanups?

Help us keep the MCCJ Community Garden thriving! We host regular garden cleanup days where volunteers can lend a hand with weeding, planting, mulching, and general maintenance. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, meet neighbors, and support a space that brings health and connection to our community. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just looking to give back, all are welcome.
